Ring of Fire Bike Ride!
This year’s much anticipated Ring of Fire Bike Ride has come and gone once again to great success. Although it was not the best of weather, the rain failed to dampen the spirits of this year’s 221 participating riders! The routes were a great success once again, even though some of our riders were being chased by a raincloud all the way round! Registration was far smoother this time too with two check-in lanes rather than one, making it even more enjoyable than last year for everyone involved, as well as better signage along all three routes. Although no definitive tally has been made, with sponsorship money still trickling in, we do know that both the Firefighter’s Charity and my very own Camp Uganda fundraising will receive over £1000 each! On the website, via the ‘T-Shirts’ page (http://rofbikeride.weebly.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html), you can buy a souvenir tee to keep supporting the two great causes! A big thank you goes out to all those involved.
What’s more we would like to say a big thank you to the official sponsors of the ride; BikeLux for providing support on the day and free bike maintenance checks prior to the event; to the Buzz for helping to publicise the ride; to Dunelm Mill, Nuffield Health and Air@ Hair Design for donating prizes!
